Renowned as the premier jazz festival in the Caribbean, the St. Lucia Jazz and arts festival is coming back with a twist. A fresh collaboration with the renowned ‘Jazz at Lincoln Center’ promises a stellar line up of the finest names in modern jazz.
The Event will take place from the 5th to the 12 of May 2019 and will be followed by the ‘Soleil roots and Soul Festival’ in August. The festival’s launch took place at The Harbor Club – by Hilton, which is an upscale boutique resort offering easy access to Rodney Bay and Spectacular views of the Marina.
The artists will perform at a myriad of intimate and public venues. This also includes the Pigeon Island National Landmark – known for its lush landscape, military ruins and views of the Northwest Coastline.
The lineup includes prestigious names such as Grammy nominee Russell Hall and five time Grammy winner Dianna Reeves. Others acts include: Vocal powerhouse and Grammy nominee Ledisi, Yolanda Brown, Jowee Omicil, veronica swift and more.
The festival will also feature “Artists in Education” initiatives. This will include master classes, professional development, and live performance collaborations with the Saint Lucia School of Music and other local jazz artists. With all of these initiatives, the St. Lucia Jazz and Arts festival 2019 is sure to be a success story that matches its predecessors.
