A Family-Friendly Corporate Incentive Travel Program
A leading financial investment firm in the USA, contracted Barefoot Holidays St. Lucia to assist with creating and executing an incentive travel program suitable for its top performers and their families. The program’s goal was to reward these high performers and prompt them into taking a well needed vacation in St. Lucia. This incentive travel program also provided them with the opportunity to spend quality time with their families.
The Challenge:
Posed with this unique challenge, Barefoot Holidays spent a number of months crafting a one-of-a-kind program and sourcing the best partners on the Island.
This meant suitable restaurants, entertainers, artists, tour guides, craft makers and more. Being an award winning Destination Management Company (DMC), Barefoot Holidays crafted a full itinerary of memorable family bonding activities that participants enjoyed during their stay.
Results:
After arriving at the Hewanorra International Airport, the participants and their families were greeted with VIP Concierge service. They were immediately transferred to their hotel where they were then treated to a welcome dinner, and several other themed dinners throughout their stay. At these events, there were several fun, cultural activities for kids which included Caricature drawings and Local hair braiding. An array of Island entertainment was also laid out, featuring: traditional masquerade dancing, St. Lucian folklore, fire eaters, steel band and other folk bands.
Sampling the culinary excellence on the island was a must. Restaurants were handpicked based on the criteria of: health & safety, provision of kid’s menus, reputation, quality cuisine and the timeliness of service. These included: Big Chef Steak House, Buzz Restaurant, Positano, Outback Chop House and The Naked Fisherman – which became a family favorite.
Another crowd favorite was the Flavors of St. Lucia cooking class which was held at Greenwood Terrace in the north of the island. Families were taught the secrets of preparing tasty St. Lucian cuisine, after venturing into the local herb garden to see, touch, smell and pick the herbs used in their cooking. Other family friendly excursions included: Snuba, Rain-forest Zip Lining, Aerial Tram, Horseback Riding, Dolphin & Whale watching and the beloved Catamaran Day Sail. This allowed participants to enjoy an oceanic view of the scenic west coast.
The program was a huge success, and the participants appreciated the fond memories created with their families. The program is therefore set to continue in the years to come.
