[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Thrill and excitement in St.Lucia for the inaugural TriStLucia, the first ever Triathlon Event on the island.
The event, organized by Human Race (the team that managed Triathlon at the London Olympics 2012) in conjunction with British Olympic legend Daley Thompson and the St. Lucia Triathlon Association, is expecting 500 competitors to come from all over the world.
TriStlucia will begin at 8am on November 23rd and will be staged in phases according to participants’ age and ability. With three separate competitive distances available, including relays, the course will feature a swim in the calm clear Caribbean waters, a challenging hilly bike ride and a final run to the Pigeon Island National Park.
Event distances include:
• The Dagger: 200m swim, 6.6km bike, 2.5km run
• The Pistol: 750m swim, 13.2km bike, 5km run
• The Cutlass: 1500m swim, 26.4km bike, 10km run
• For the Children’s events there will be a 100m swim, an 800m bike and an 800m run as their challenge.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and St Lucian, Richard Peterkin, will present awards to all the winners at the prize giving ceremony. Olympic competition manager John Lunt said: “We are extremely honoured to have IOC member, Richard Peterkin, attend the first ever triathlon held on the beautiful paradise Island of Saint Lucia.
