[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For the second time in its history, the beautiful island of Saint Lucia will stage the an International Triathlon this week. The triathlon is an exciting multi-discipline sport involving a continuous race in the three disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running. The world-class event has attracted Double Gold Olympic champion Daley Thompson as event ambassador and Olympic Silver medalist, World Champion and BBC commentator Steve Cram.
Daley Thompson commented, “It’s wonderful to be coming back to St. Lucia and am immensely proud of the fact that we are invited back each year to this beautiful and welcoming island.”
The St. Lucia Triathlon will culminate on 22nd November after a week-long festival of fun activities hosted by Tri St Lucia. These include a beach run on Wednesday 19th November, an aquathlon (swim and run) on Thursday 20th November and a 2km ocean swim on Friday morning. Designed with all ages and fitness levels in mind, these activities will provide vacationers and Saint Lucians with a taste of the overall triathlon event, from swimming in the beautiful clear waters to riding through St. Lucia’s hilly terrains.
